No, thats not it either. But I unticked the plugin autoupdate switch and
now I see that Spotti is the culprit.
Please check the server.log file. Where in this world are you living?

What does it take to get for LMS to put an entry in its library?
LMS' schema is based on tracks. Tracks belong to an album, and tracks
can have contributors. So... if you could store all the tracks from your
streaming service in the tracks table, that would be a great start. Eg.

I too run LMS (7.9.1 official) on a Win10 Pro x64 laptop current 1809

machine.

And regarding your other questions: I believe there are ways to make
either the server (Daphile) or the player (SqueezeLite settings) either
but Im not sure.
Per default, a Squeezebox will multiply the signal value with the volume
and als in addition to that with replay gain values (if enabled) o
No, replay gain is always negative in a Squeezebox system (smaller than
one as a factor, negative dB)

Correction, re-ran the script after entering the command, and looks like
LMS is now running...
Many thanks for the help.
That was a process...
Looks like I have to re-install all my media folders, etc, but

I am stuck on version 2.6.3 and it wants to update to

The whole thing probably took about five minutes. Actual time was 17:58
for the server restart, but I'm not sure the Pi actually has the right
time on it.
By the time I first set the units synced it was 18:01.
Then I played the Spotify and local tracks as noted.

yes to both questions.
Also I forgot to mention my setup: This is it:

Hi Pippin,
sounds like a great Idea, but remember there are not only fritzboxusers
outside and there are fritzboxusers outside ;-)
heads up
I wanted to install the shairtunes plugin, and (I think) thats when the
mess started:
It didnt load properly (when I click the settings link, it does not find
the respective html page). Also, it kept asking for a restart. -
endlessly.
So, I uninstalled shairtunes, but the restart request remained.

You've received lots of good advice to troubleshoot. I'll just add my 2
cents to confirm that something odd is happening in your setup. One of
my setups is LMS 7.9.2 running on a Windows 10(64) machine. I have about
100,000 tracks, mostly FLAC, some mp3 and m4a. I have no freezes,
dropouts, et

I was higlihting that you were not running a system that uses some of
the "nice" features and likely that may have other unknown addiiotns.

That said: I definitely do NOT recommend to open a port to the internet
instead of using a VPN, it's not safe.
We plan to add a VPN

The only safe way is with a VPN, unfortunately its not NOOB friendly !

Is it possible to stream music to Ipeng on an iPhone when I'm outside
the house?
If yes - does it exist some kind of noob setup explanation somewhere?

It's just good advice to roll back to a 'vanilla' LMS install in case
one of the plugins is the source of problems. You can then reactivate
them on

I was going to say that also !
I've never run LMS (or any of the previous names) on anything except
Linux I have an original SliMP3 thats how long I've been running.

I'll check. But AFAIK at the moment only the LMS is active on my PC.

Do you think using wavepack, DSD, c3po can seriously freeze LMS?
What's the last version of LMS is known as stable and good?

If running multiple servers on the same computer. make sure they are
not trying to access the same port(s). That would definitely give you
the symptoms you are experiencing.

The LMS really drives me mad with its bugs and regular freezes.
Although the LMS (7.9.2) is installed on my desktop i5/8 GB/SSD/LAN 1000
MB (Windows 10), it works slowly, and very often stops responding even
on simple actions as to open music folder, or add tracks to playlist,
and so on.
