I think this was the result of trying "Squeezebox for Kodi" which I have
discontinued use of. I have two instances of the same player in my LMS
web interface. At one point while playing music on one player it
apparently switched players and the music abrubtly stopped until I
switched the player b

Thank you, although scanning the music files was not the problem.
Everything worked except: LMS couldn't read the music files from
clients' playlists (writing them with LMS was no problem).
Example:
- Play music with player A.
- Save playlist "Test".
- Restart LMS.
- Player A's playlist is n

My Squeezebox Touch has been working flawlessly for a year and now
"Connection Reset by Local Host" has returned but not only on Tidal but
now on everything, My Music, Qobuz, Tidal and everything else I run. I
have tried rebooting the router which works but after a few hours same
problem returns.

just wanted to inform you, that 2.10.01 unfortunately crashes on my NAS.
I went back to 2.08 and everything is fine again.
