Thank you very much, 7.9.3 solved the problem.

You are right though Michael, there does seem to be an issue inside LMS
accessing the network.
Please note that my confusion last week was caused by an invalid test
setup. I tried to come up with the smallest set of code required to
reproduce the problem and introduced an issue in the process.
I have the same issue on MacOS 10.13 and the latest 8.0.
Please describe what exact problem you're having, attach a server.log
file etc.. My quoted posting didn't mention any issue.

Yup! 7.9.4 seems to have done the trick :) Haven't had it run
continuously for 4 days in a while! Thanks for all your effo

There are two sources both of which are not behaving properly.
1. It looks like the 192.168.1.11 - every so oftne closes too soon when
LMS has more data to send - below is "normal"

Ok, today LMS notified me of the Update and seems to have updated
successfully. But from the Web Interface, Albums, Album Artists, New
Music and Music Folder are all Empty. I dont like that.

I decided to reboot with the firewall off, and windows came back up
popped up a notification about the firewall being off and continued
including loading LMS.

This is what I get in my log with logging to info:
Code:

192.168.1.11:54
I also use node red to check if LMS is playing or not. I use
homeassistant to get the player state and node red to process this
state. Maybe that is causing errors?

It is set to error. I will put it to info.

I have HA running here.
It polls LMS frequently to get player status information.
However, I do not see lots of errors in the LMS logs.
What log level do you have set for CLI?
(Settings/Advanced/Logging/plugin.cli)

If enable logging for plugin.cli set to INFO - you'll get more detail on
the request coming in on the CLI - may give better info on what source
application is having problems.

I would assume your external RasPi does use by accident the CLI...
Can you disconnect that one from the LMS and test whether the same
errror comes up?

That is my raspberry pi3 running node red and homeassistant. I use node
red to fire a playlist, but that is a one time affair. With
homeassistant I could control LMS. But I never do.

It does seem a bit borked at the moment,
see here

See Paul Webster's response: he got the params wrong there.

The constant stoppage on 7.9.2 only happened after a recent Windows
update. Framework 3.5 or something similar sounding. 7.9.3 does
resolve it for me too.

I get a lot of errors in my server.log. What could this be?
The address refers to my pi3. My LMS pi4 is on 192.168.1.29.
Code:
20-08-27 13:34:28.0691] Slim::Plugin::CLI::Plugin::client_socket_write
