Just -Year Descending- would be very nice (That's what Custom Browse do
I assume). It would still put latest album in top in most cases. And at
least near top if several releases same year.
As I said: that's already implemented for albums, at least in the
default skin.
I have PiCore version 7 running on a Pi4
I have an NFS share on my Linux Server (shared with several computers on
my network).
In the PiCore System I have setup NFS in LMS with default settings as
uid=1001,gid=50 and just added ver=4 or ver-3 neither work.
I have also set a 60 second delay to all

I was hoping for an option to always sort year descending. Or add extra
sort options:
-Year desc,Album-
-Year desc,Artist,Album

Yes, in each case that would be a good and logical way to display
Albums.

Nobody ever suspects their arrival
I've had problems trying to mount a cifs share using the pcp field -
stripping out all that uid stuff and just specifying vers=1.0 finally
worked
---
The settings "uid=1001,gid=50" are only valid for CIFS
CIFS uses the format
vers=3.0
NFS uses the format
vers=3
Or whatever version you are trying to use. Not sure how you have
userid's mapped between the clients and server, but it can be fun to
coordinate.

Firstly thank you @slartibartfast for pointing out that I had included
the OS and version.
My NFS Server is running Red Hat Enterprise Linux version 8. I am not a
begginner with Linux having used Gentoo for a good 20 years or more as
well as many other distros, Arch, Debian, Ubuntu...
Thank

At last!!!
Changed the vers=3 to vers=4 and everything woke up.
Log now shows this:
Code:
Waiting for network... No
network found! Done (52).
Starting Openssh server... Done.
Mounting Network Drive...
mount: /mnt/

There is still something odd with your system. We are not detecting a
valid ethernet connection, but it does appear to be connected.
Are you using DHCP?
What is the result of 'ifconfig'
