It might be worth a check of the file/directory permissions of the new
drive. All the issues I had so far with scanning were caused by
inapproproate mount options.

Thanks to all of you who contributed to this guide!!
I have tried it, and it worked fine. But nevertheless, after a few days,
I reverted my Pi back to my self-built 7.8-armhf-server on wheezy as it
performs A LOT faster than the 7.9 all_deb-version on jessie.
