Reviewing Scanner.log, and looking at the last file listed, gave me an
idea. I've removed that file and the scan now works, so it must be a
corrupted file. The logging didn't really help, other than by listing
the filenames, e.g. no diagnostics.
Thank you anyway Michael, it's always reassuring

Thank you, Michael. Both log files attached.
They look pretty lean, though, so I'm going to increase the logging and
upload a couple more.

Can you suggest anything else please Michael? The scan didn't work after
all, and I'm now showing 1100 songs instead of 8000+ songs.

I've restored my VM (hosting LMS) and this time chosen to just look for
new music, rather than clear and rescan, and it's succeeded. I think
I'll avoid that clear function...
Many thanks for your help, Michael, your time is always much appreciated
here.

Thanks Michael, but sadly no luck.

Hi all
Full scan is failing. I've added a bunch of music and removed some old
music, so I'm doing a full scan and it's failing. Can anyone shed light
on the cause and resolution?
Many thanks

Thanks for the reply Phillippe.
This is quite odd. I reverted my VM snapshot to 8.1 and it ran fine. I
then applied the 8.2 nightly, using today's file rather than yesterday's
file, and it's all working! Nothing different in the process (there's
just one command to run - dpkg) and both attempts
I've now rolled-back my VM to the previous day and everything works
correctly again.
So to summarise, this is my current setup:
Logitech Media Server Version: 8.1.1 - 1610364019 @ Thu Jan 14 06:22:21

Hostname: av01
Server IP Address: 10.10.10.41
Server HTTP Port Number: 9000

In essence, the player seems to lose contact with LMS every couple of
seconds. This has been a rock solid setup for years, so something has
happened with todays upgrade to 8.2. I didnt see any clues in
server.log but not sure where to check next.
Hi
I've installed 8.2 nightly over an 8.1, and whilst the server seems to
be running, my players cannot connect.
Taking the Boom as an example, if i switch it off and on, then go
through the 5 setup screens, it sees my server (called av01) and says
setup complete, but then says cannot connect
