I finally got it working with the help of everyone here. What I did was: In the server.prefs file I went to line Allowed Hosts and it had the LMS server IP so I changed it to my laptops IP, that allowed me to get access to the LMS server. Then I went to the settings GUI and changed the Block In

I think the prefs setting is "allowedHosts" Any prefs setting preceded by "ts_" is a timestamp and NOT the actual setting. prefs files can only be edited when LMS is not running - otherwise LMS will overwrite any change with a cached version of the prefs.

I was playing in the settings section Advanced/Security tab and clicked block incoming connections. Now I am not able to access the Gui but I still have ssh open. Which file gets written with that information? so I can edit it. I have looked in the files for Squeezeboxserver but been unable to f
