Added this to my /etc/apt/sources.list :
deb http://debian-origin.slimdevices.com stable main
Then did all these commands to try and start over.
Code:
apt-get update
rm -rf /usr/share/squeezeboxserver
rm -rf /var/lib/squeezeboxserver
apt-get remove --purge
I put this line in /etc/apache2/apache2.conf
Code:
DocumentRoot /media/6TB/USBdisk2-3TB/var/www
It says:
THIS WEBPAGE IS NOT AVAILABLE
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED
I took out this line in the same file.
Code:
Listen 9000

you must specify packages by their own names, not by quoting the names of the
files they come in

I did try and remove it but all I get back is this:
Code:
dpkg -r logitechmediaserver_7.7.5_all.deb dpkg: error: you
must specify packages by their own names, not by quoting the names of the files

Type dpkg --help for help about
Hi,
please dont mix new stuff like your Version of Ubuntu and old Versions
like lms 7.7.5.
LMS has its own Webserver you didnt need Apache for that.
remove the old lms and your modifications on apache2.conf.
(There must be some other mods that you didnt post, cause apache never
uses port 9000
Did this 2 commands:
Code:
wget
http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/7.9/sc/8e016d3/logitechmediaserver_7.9.0~1456642478_i386.deb
gdebi logitechmediaserver_7.9.0~1456642478_i386.deb
But I still get Forbidden going to port 9000.

I got the Apache Web server root at:
/media/6TB/USBdisk2-3TB/var/www
Not sure if that's a problem. It worked on the other system I had and it
was at the same Apache directory.
In the /var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log file it is just filled up
with:
Code:
How do I. Check server.log? I used Webmin under System Logs and looked
server.log should be in /var/log/squeezeboxserver.
What does "perl -v" give you? LMS 7.7.5 is pretty old. You'll most
likely have to run 7.9 for support of your platform.
I installed on a Live USB of 16.04 with Ubuntu software center and it
worked immediately both web interface and player
Logitech Media Server Version: 7.9.0 - 145495 @ Mon Feb 8 19:16:07
UTC 2016
Operating system: Debian - EN - utf8Platform Architecture:
x86_64-linux
Did this command:
dpkg -i logitechmediaserver_7.7.5_all.deb
Every thing looked good but when I got to port 9000 it says This webpage
is not available but it shows the little Logitech media server icon just
before the http in the tab of the web page. So it must be getting there
a little.
