This sounds interesting since the copies of old QPKGS containing SSOTS
are getting

It would be super if someone can fix that, and it's one of those moments
that I regret I've not learnt more

I just saw a ssods faq with an entry with the title -Use binary Perl
modules shipped with SBS-.
It references a file called -/opt/ssods4/share/sbs/shipped-binaries-
# List of files shipped with SSODS that are also in $SSIDR. All
paths/files
# listed here are relative to $SSDIR. ssctrl will
Cool, looks like it is working. Flac decoding to PCM on the qnap
server/LMS seems to work now !
Cool. Just keep in mind you might need to do this every time you update
LMS on your machine.
Would you know whether there's a Slim/Utils/OS/Custom.pm in SSOTS? If
so, you might be able to tweak
Cool, looks like it is working. Flac decoding to PCM on the qnap
server/LMS seems to work now !

In /opt/ssods4/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/Bin/x86_64-linux/ i found 64
bits versions of flac and faad
(-faad: ELF 64-bit LSB executable, x86-64, version 1 (SYSV), dynamically
linked, interpreter /lib64/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2, for GNU/Linux 2.6.26,
Looks like SSOTS uses /opt/ssods4/bin/perl
This problem is not about perl itself, but about some helper binaries
like I mentioned (flac, faad etc.). As you're running a 32 bit Perl, it
would be looking for 32 bit binaries, too. But LMS does come with 64 bit
binaries. You just have to find
To be sure, touch
/opt/ssods4/var/home/SqueezeboxServer/SSOTS_SSUSEBINARIES
upgraded to squeezeboxserver-7.9.0-1484464959.tgz
enabled flac to pcm on server conversion
still not working.

Oh, that's SSOTS? This comes with its own Perl version. I'm not sure how
this works. Maybe you could log in to it, try to find the LMS binaries
(flac, faad etc.) and
Last year I went from 7.7.2 to 7.7.6 to 7.8.0 to 7.8.1 to 7.9.0

What YLMS version did you install? 7.9 should come with 64 bit binaries.
