Just in case anyone else finds this thread whilst looking for a
solution, I also hit this problem on my DS213+, I was previously running
LMS 7.7.6-116. There seems to be two options one not available on older
or PPC based NAS devices like mine:
Synology's update to Perl 5.28 breaks all the exist
Finaly, by downgrading perl to previous 5.24 version, and installing V8
lms, it works !
So I'll go with that for the moment.

That's not what I'm saying. But that's a question Synology must answer.
And definitely not the way forward.

LMS on Synology is dead (unless you can run Docker). There's no need to
up- or downgrade. After the Perl update they released none of the
available packages

I understand an update is required before swtiching to V8. So I

squeezebox radios... that requires a V7.x lms in order to apply the
patch...
So I still miss a V7.x lms package..
First of all: an older package won't help. If Synology has updated Perl,
