Is it possible to block my users from using programs such as download
accelerator, FlashGet, Getright, etc?
I only wish to prevent them from downloading files in fragments; I don't
care if only one session is open.

as a transparent http proxy, and it's working corectly.

how well does squid take advantage of multiple CPUs on a machine? we will be

I'm running squid 2.5 stable 3, and I have the following the problem. Every
time a user clicks on a 'POST' link, their browsers just sit there
waiting... Download works just great.
Any ideas?

Are you using proxy authentication? It doesn't work
with transparent proxying.
