Because I am about to push students on our campus to use our proxy server, I
was curious what everyones experiences were with using the squid proxy server
with P2P apps (such as Limwire, Kazaa, etc.)
We are planning on using the proxy server for transparent caching on port 80.
Any experiences, r

Your c++ compiler isn't correctly configured...
If you look in the release notes for 3.0, you'll note that squid 3
requires a C++ compiler, squid 2.5 does
Hi, I've installed and configured Squid (NT 2.5 STABLE 3), and have it
"mostly" working - I have squid running on port 3128, and on the same
machine I'm forwarding requests to an Apache 2.0.47 running on port 82.
Fully qualified URLs work fine, but if I hit a folder (like "/"), the

My Debian+Squid 2.5+winbind squid box is acting strangely. I must deny
Internet access from one of my users named "teszt". The NTLM helper

ACLs and http_access rules, but the user can reach the Internet through

Thanks Sean.
I seek information, those access was caused by virus / worm. Not sure it is

It sounded like something that would be very hard if not impossible to do

Using SQUID can I force a footer to be added to every webpage.
I have searched the list and can't find anything along this line.
Any Help/examples would be great!

Sorry, you are correct, I'm using squid 2.5 stable 4. I guess I missed the
part on you using version 3.0. But I do have the same scenario working,
multiple back-end servers with different addresses and different domains
with the squid doing the SSL, but I'm using version 2.5.

i think we've figured out what was wrong.
A colleague found that the permissions were wrong on /dev/null (only root
had access).
Once we had changed this, squid was better.
It no longer sits using up most of the CPU, but it does seem slower than
normal.
It's annoying that squid didn't show any erro
Hello again!
Because i'm having problems with squid 2.5STABLE4, i thought i would try v3
to see if i get the same problem.
I am trying to compile it on suse 8.0, and with the following:
./configure --sbindir=/usr/sbin --enable-ssl --enable-snmp
--datadir=/usr/share --sysconfdir=/etc --localstated
What would cause me to continue to get a "WARNING: disk space over limit"
error mesage? I have my cache set to about 30gb and I have 90gb free on
that disk. It is causing me no end of problems because it causes squid not
to start back up cleanly.

Hello
what does this mean in access.log?

This can also be a POST method. What I mean are the two zeros before

It looks like squid does not send/receive any data, but what is a replycode
