read from stdin returns null, I don't have this
problem.But, when the squid server shuts down, the
redirector processes are not getting killed.

I have installed squid and using it's delay pool and
acl features to limit bandwidth of indivisual user.
I am told that with this I can restrict only
downloading speed. Squid is not useful for monitoring

it takes longer to display the basic error...

I'll get these out today, gonna be a little tricky since the server only
accepts SSL connections.
Using squid as reverse proxy with no caching for now so the proxy port
shouldn't be necessary but I'll include it anyways.
