Hi,
I have a problem configuring autentication against LDAP.
Could not find where the problem lies comparing my config to others in

I've been able to configure correctly the squid_ladp_auth part, but now that
users have to belong to a group, I have problems with squid _ldap

Assuming documentation at

If you don't need the support, I would also suggest to take a stable and
heavily tested Debian Woody. With this one, you can always be sure to
get security updates even in the not so close future. With SuSE you can
not be sure to get updates in two years or later.

Hello All,
I have Mikrotik running as a parent Proxy and at the same time i want to run

I think it is something to do with ACL but i dont know where to start.
At the moment the proxy works, if a client puts all the details in the

Steve,
The first error seems to suggest that the DNS queries are not being answered
or are timing out. You will need to check the load on your DNS server and
how reachable it is by your Squid box.
The second one is nothing to worry about...it is coming from your accessing

I tried to run WCCP and get a lot of messages as below everytime users

I assume the messages coming from IPTABLES, because I saw "nf_hook: hook 1

However, I want to make sure that the messages come from WCCP (ip_wccp.o)

Thanks for you attention. I've just now subscribed to this list. I'm a

Are you being told the cache is corrupted by people or squid? If squid is

If a person is telling you, where are they getting this information from.
"Corrupt" is a very vague term and is used more often than it should be.

I've been running SuSE 7.3 for 4 years now. I've, not once, had to
contact SuSE for support on their operating system. There's so much
support and documentation in other places (web, usenet, irc) I haven't
bothered with support from SuSE. SuSE does tend to drop support on their

Check the cache.log and see what errors are being logged. This should shade
some light on the "corruption" at hand.
When squid is started it runs an integrity check on the objects in
cache...is it echoing any error messages during startup? You may also want

I've become the de-facto administrator for our 3 Web Cache (squid) servers.

My filesystem isn't close to 90% full. Only about 6 gigs being using in

I appreciate all your suggestions.

i am working on putting my high performance squid box

i can't buy a new box, so i have to transform one

Hi all,
Ok this is a bizarre situation.
The proxy server is setup with all the default settings. No real ACL rules
