I've got a pretty busy squid proxy server (approx 50-100 request /sec).
Is there any guideline as to how often do we need to restart squid (e.g.
shutdown and start squid)? The reason is that I found out that squid uses up
my 2.5GB of RAM leaving only 6MB. Also it uses up half of my 500M

but, I found the problem. it seems i'm wrong defining ipchains rules
all connection are entering to squid :)
ipchains -A input -p TCP -d any/0 www -j REDIRECT 3128 =replace with=
ipchains -A input -s 192.168.2.0/24 -p TCP -d any/0 w

Swap : 512 MB
800 MHz FSB
HDD : 40GB
RedHat Linux 8, Kernel : 2.4.18-14
Squid: 2.5.STABLE5 with redirector
Configure options : --enable-

cisco.com (log - in), it shows the error page " 401 " : "Authorization Required - This
