Thanks for the info. I thought that it might be the case that
you had to have root for port 443. Squid does start out. I configured
it to not use port 3128 because I only want the standard SSL port available.

I frequently get 500 errors when connecting to msn.com through our

Authentication will be valid upto credentialsttl on that particular client. It will
ask authentication after that time,if you
activate that client.

Ok, so it's impossible to have a second authentification on a website after proxy
authentification? Or can I configure my brownser without any cache? Thanks.
Actually, squid does not ask for more an re-authentification for these sites.
How we can configure squid so that he realizes this.

Hello,
I'm looking for a way to control the HTTP headers coming from my squid.
today I use "header_replace" but I need to set different headers for different
locations on my site.
More than that, I use my squid as accelerator, but I don't want to change the apache
headers.
Best Regards,

Thank you all for your suggestions, unfortunately the SSL certs I use are
for domain names and websites owned by separate companies so I don't believe
sharing a cert is going to solve my problem. There were a lot of good
suggestions posted so thank you very much for the help.

I wondering if squid has a built in feature that passes the username down to
back end webservers. Reference material seems to state there is an
authentication header, but I don't see this information displayed when I run
a script that shows the header information on the webserver. I'm displaying

Hi All,

We are using squid/2.5.STABLE5 in our office. Unfortunately since upgrading
to this version AMSN or MSN seems to struggle to connect. I
I've only gotten two of them so far, this referenced one and another one. I

i'm getting these too!!

Hello,
I'm actually using squid 2.5 STABLE 5 on Redhat 7.3 with the authentification NCSA.
Certain Internet sites ask for an authentification similar to the NCSA
authentification (authentification based on htaccess). Actually, squid does not ask
for more an re-authentification for these sites.

do you also receive these after posting to list?
