Good day, Squid gurus
I've been reading the entire mailing list and another dozens of sites, links,
articles but I couldn't find the response to my problem.
The big problem we all encounter (and by all I mean a great number of network
administrators) is the quality of internet and the
I'm sorry for my simple questions but i'm going mad. I'm trying to force
squid to give fresh copy of a simple .htm page after an amount of time
set by me.
I set this pattern
refresh_pattern \.htm$ 2 100% 3 ignore-reload override-lastmod
reload-into-ims override-expire
So i expect

Hi,
I need to redirect all the requests to another proxy, running on Windows 2003.
I want to receive all the requests, filtering and forwarding to the other proxy,
which is connected to the internet.

Sorry, I had:
external_acl_type propel_header_auth %{Hdr:member} /etc
/squid/ident.sh x-pun:user
acl propel_header_auth ident REQUIRED
http_access allow propel_header_auth
as well and still not working -- I think. I am still getting:

Hi,
My squid proxy is very slow as compared to cacheflow which is
configured as a failover.
Also squid eats up memory ::
[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# free -m
total used free sharedbuffers cached
Mem:1001983 18 0108294
something wrong happend to my squid that now it wont start, things were fine
until i initialized the cache with webmin, and not it wont start under any
circumstances
i keep getting May 9 20:01:01 pepino squid[11249]: Squid Parent: child process
11251 started
May 9 20:01:01 pepino
That is indeed strange. It shows my routers IP and not my local IP.
Why are you using a website to determine your local IP? Maybe there is
another solution to your problem.
regards
Dietrich

Will show the actual public Internet source IP address which
originated the TCP session towards the remote server. From
behind a squid proxy, this will be the public source IP address
of the proxy, not the private address of your workstation.
It is possible (but rare)
Hello.
We wish to cache all internet websites but not our local webservers. We have
alot of students with their own webpages which are modified frequently and
do not wish to run into problems with .asp and old versions of pages in the
cache. Which is the better option: no_cache or always_direct
Hi there,
This is a real n00b question. Sorry. Our squid setup is working nicely and
DNS is being resolved nicely for internet domain names no problem. However,
local computer names are not resolved with the squid server. eg:
http://my-server/index.html will fail.
Our system is a Windows 2003
