Just wondering if anyone has any tips on tuning the timeout settings for
Squid in http-accel mode.
I have each of my squid servers pushing over 130mbps right now, and I
want to push capacity as far as possible on these boxes.
Everything related to timeouts are default right now. Thanks!
Hello Squid Users,
I'm also one of the many that have been wrestling with WCCP and Squid as
the cache engine. Can someone please explain why Squid uses WCCP versions
3 and 4? The only WCCP versions I'm aware of are 1 and 2.
### squid.conf

The first page is a bit slow. But other links are okay if I bypass
proxy. When you first access that web site using proxy it should go to
the origin server. But for subsequent requests it should get it from
the cache. But that is not happening for this site.
Thanks

You can create an ACL for local IP addresses and block those in
squid.conf. You can also assign a customized error message for this ACL
using "deny_info" to display a custom html page with your desired
message.

I have a Squid cache server "Version 2.5.STABLE6" running on RedHat
Enterprise Linux 4. It seems working fine so far, it has only been up
for two days, except I can't access local web servers without using
FQDN. For example, when I tried http://sharepoint, I received the
following error messages:

I'd used NTLM authentication before switching to the LDAP. NTLM is a
legacy authentication protocol. Our forest/domain is now all
2003/XP/2000. Eventually I'd like to disable the NTLM. It would be good
if squid 3.0 can support Kerberos bind to MS LDAP.
Thanks a lot,

Hello.
I have this problem that I have a large file in which I have a lot of
domainnames
for which I want to block all. The file is around 9 megs.
I have other files also that's included, so the sum of the other files are
around
6.5 megs, which I have no problems loading.

Hello all,
we want to use Squid as a secondary proxy for Maven downloads. It should be
configured so that certain downloads are cached and can be reused.
Our setup is as followed:
One gateway ISA 2004 Server serves as proxy for all clients and servers Squid
is installad on a linux machine

Hi
I have spent the last few months getting Squid to work seamlessly in a Windows
2003 AD environment. Being an MCSE I had very little *NIX knowledge but I had
to try Squid out as ISA was not an option.
I would like to share my configuration with others so hopefully I can provide
the same help
