We have some web servers for videos playing (the FLV format,like youtube).
Could we deploy squid to act as a reverse-proxy for this application?
What's the recommend configure for squid? Thanks.

Hi,
This is most interesting! 1.5 TB!! :)
Considering it is a 64-bit system, did it require 22 GB of RAM for the squid
process alone (14MB per GB). Can you share the following info:
- Total RAM on the system
- Size of your cache_mem
- Peak Requests Per Second
- Byte Hit Ratio
- Cache Repla

Ok, I'm adding SSL support to my Squid 3 reverse proxy configuration.
Here are the configuration directives:
http_port 8085 accel defaultsite=www.mydomain.com vhost
https_port 4433 accel cert=/etc/ssl/cert/www_mydomain_com.crt
key=/etc/ssl/private/private.key defaultsite=www.mydomain.com vhost
I have a client/server application program and want to add SSL module to it to
secure the data transferring on the network. I wander that if I can use the
squid as a SSL proxy between client and serve
r. The squid will configurated as a reserve proxy and located in the
application server's envi

Of course you can :)
The trick to making these adjustments is having a means to gauge their

I get good hard data that can be compared to a historical base

Greetings;
I have a proxy-to-proxy setup (without ICP) and it is working wonderfully with
the exception of cases whereby IE users attempt to connect to a remote Citrix
server. The odd thing is that the errors encountered do not seem to happen at
all when users use Firefox.

The best option is to use an ICAP-based AV scanner.

Colin,
I tried to add some php code but it doesn't get embedded, I guess is
because the gateway is run with perl. I don't know perl, it would be
easier to use perl instead of php in this case. How can I embed php code
on the splash page to build a dynamic page?
Thanks again.

Hi All,
Can someone tell me how can I scan http,https and ftp request for virus

Without DG is it possible?

Thanks JD,
after installing compat-libstdc++-* the debug.o errors were solved
was able to compile it
but what about the errors of missing files in config.log
conftest.c:11:28: error: ac_nonexistent.h: No such file or directory
conftest.c:11:28: error: ac_nonexistent.h: No such file or directory

Maybe missing a c++ lib?
But I never tried Squid 3.x, only 2.x...
On my CentOS I have those ( rpm -qa | grep "++" ):
libstdc++-4.1.2-42.el5
libstdc++-devel-4.1.2-42.el5
libsigc++20-2.0.17-1.el5.rf
gcc-c++-4.1.2-42.el5
compat-libstdc++-296-2.96-138
compat-libstdc++-33-3.2.3-61
