trying to connect to the actual tinyurl.com servers they are trying to
connect to 127.0.0.1 (i.e. themselves), which is clearly incorrect.
Check your DNS setup.

I believe that you want to be implementing a forward proxy, but
instead you are using the configuration options for setting up a
reverse proxy. Read the Squid instructions for configuring forward
proxies and you should be on the right path.

"clientProcessHit: Vary object loop!") accounts for nearly all of the
squid log. Can someone please explain to me the meaning of these
messages?
