Hi people!
Im running 3.1.20 with ntlm and it works much better! I was using
squid 2.7 and the ntlm was much slower.
What I'm seeing strange is that the use of memory for cache is very
low. Any suggestion to improve the use of my 14GB of ram ?
This is my squid.conf:
external_acl_type
I have 18GB of physical memory.

If you have 14 GB physical memory, it is not recommended to set

Hi people: I have a squid using ntlm to authenticate the users. I also
use a external acl but im running out of ideas to make it run faster.
If I disable the ntlm everything works very well, and the cache hits
increses a lot.
I found that the squids asks a lot for username and passwords to
both options on?
Maybe I can activathe them back, increase the filedescriptors a lot,
and see if I cant force the persistent connection on the webservers to
close instead of keep alive...
What do you think?

You should consider compress the logs...
My two cents... this is my logrotate config for squid.
/var/log/squid/*.log {
daily
compress
rotate 31

nocreate
sharedscripts
postrotate
test ! -e /var/run/squid.pid ||
to
keep the logfiles uncompressed while we store them.
