Been trying to get transparent caching set up in Fedora Core 3 with a cisco
router and I thought I had it worked out. Now for some reason I'm having
the following problem. When I try to set up the gre tunnel between the
cache and the router using the following:

Excellent. I got it to work pretty easily, just wasn't too sure whether the
auth program would send back the user id to use in another ACL.

I have Squid acting as a proxy and using webmin to control access via
login/pwd. What I'd like to do is to further limit the user so that they
can only use the proxy to access certain web servers. I'm guessing that
I'll have to use something else to authenticate against other tha

What I'd like to do is have clients use SSL from their browsers and hit a
single host, which would then allow them access to intranet web resources.
Kind of a poor-mans VPN.

the redirect off of the router interface, the ability to browse the intranet
returns. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm having an issue were I have to enter the fully qualified domain name
when using squid/transparent caching, though when it's disabled I can just
simply use the hostname for local hosts. It has to be something small I'm

Here is quick check list for enabling WCCP with Linux/Squid
1. You need wccp module for the kernel or you need a patched GRE kernel. I
don't have the URL for ip_wccp
Running squid on RedHat 8.0, and not sure if I'm using port redirections.
