I recall reading somewhere that squid can display a
particular web-page for its users the first time they start
their browser.
I would like to use this feature to point all the employees
to the corporate website/intranet as their initial (or
idle) page.
Anybody with the commands/steps on
broadly speaking, I think NTLM authentication is where u
would use Windows NT/2k/etc to authenticate squid users.
I.e whatever credentials users enter to log into windows
network is what is used by squid to allow access to the
internet.
Basic authentication would be the defualt linux
My RH9 box has two interfaces to the internet (one for
students the other for staff). In the last two days, my
squid has been failing by simply closing off one of the
(staff) interfaces!
When I go to the box I can see from the tail -f
/var/log/squid/access.log that the traffic for students is

the SquidNT up and running (on a Windows Server/Platform).
I am now looking for SquidGaurd to run with it. Anybody
