I think this is correct. You are using the basic authentication schema, this
mean each time you launch the browser is going to prompt you the
user/password. Is you are in a windows network and want to avoid the popup
authentication use ntlm schema.
cheers.

We validate our squid users using ntlm schema and internet browse work fine,
but we couldn´t login to Y! messenger service. The Y! program was
configurated to go through proxies connection.
This is a piece of access.log squid file.

Unless you are using a cache heirarchy, you have no need of always_direct
and never_direct.
What I said to do was something like this:
acl yahoo dstdomain
I´m using squid Version 2.5.STABLE5 and Samba 3.0.2a in a windows network.
configure options: --enable-auth=ntlm,basic
--enable-ntlm-auth-helpers=winbind --enable-basic-auth-helpers=winbind
--enable-delay-pools --disable-ident-lookups --enable-follow-x-forwarded-for

I have I box with squid - DG - middleman... All works fine except when I
open a mail from Yahoo
and if this have a Jpg in the body it doesn´t show the PIC. If a click the
place where suppousedly the jpg are it tries to download it.
Could someone help me??
I probe squid and middleman without DG
The first squid is use to authenticate users with the wb_ntlmauth helper and
then redirect the request to DG for filtering.
The second squid is use to connect to internet to resolve the request.
The problem is:
Dansguard didn´t see the real user, insted apply all the filter rules for
all users
First of all thanks for your answer...
I read that someone could do it using the cache_peer with login=*:password
param in the squid.conf file...

Adam,
All Wbinfo commands function OK and wb_auth -d work OK too...
My pdc and bdc´s are NT4.0 and the station is logged to the lan.
If i use basic NTLM authentication (with pop up) works fine!!! but
transparent autehntication doesn´t work
