I think "/usr/local/squid/bin/squid -k rotate" for example every 24hours
will help you. :-)

We have two providers, one is faster than the another one.
We want to transfer all requests for small things like images over the
slowest line and all other requests over the another line.
So I had the hope something could be done with tcp_outgoing_address or
something...
Regards,
Sander Winkel
I want to split traffic over two interfaces with acls.
For example, I want to send all requests for images to 192.168.0.1 and all
other traffic to 192.168.0.2
I've look to tcp_outgoing_address but that don't helps me well.
I thought it was possible to do that with squid, isn't it?
Is there any possibility to disable the functionality of htttp tunnel
software such like www.http-tunnel.com?
I'm working at an highschool and our students don't like the good
functionality of our squid proxyserver. :-)

I'm using pam_radius authentication, the radius server is a w2k server.
The authentication works perfectly and fast.

username anymore in the logfile.
Instead of that I see the IP-address of the client.
So ftp traffic is forbidden cause the username is unknown by squid.

Is't possible to control ftp access by username who logged in at the cache?
I've tried it with an acl but this only worked for http traffic.
The only way I've found to control ftp traffic is by an ip acl.
Is it true that ftp traffic can't be controlled by username?
Sander
Thanks for your answers!
The first problem about the icons is solved, your answer was correct and
solved the problem.
About the second problem, I've added a dns entry for this proxy.
So I hope the next days the ftp will be faster.
Thanks for your helpfull answers!

ports.
When browsing the web I can see the username in the logfile but when I want
to ftp I only see the IP of the client.
The authentication for the proxy is done by radius authentication who works
fine.
Is't true that you can't specify username to control ftp access?
Kind regards,
rd is that I can only ftp via a browser if I give a logonname and
password with the url, a ftp client doesn't work for me.
I get the message "connection refused"
I hope you can help me.

squid, you have to install pam_radius and pam_devel
who is included by your linux distribution.
Good luck!

If Squid reads your http_access list, the first one who apply is the rule
that matter.
You can safely delete the BAD acl because the ALL acl has the some function.
So try this:
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
acl GOOD dst 10.117.0.0/255.255.0.0
http_access allow good
http_access deny all

I think that it's a good idea for Squid 3.
I'm looking forward for it, cause the lenght of the parameter is soo big
yet. :-))

After changing the specified value to bytes it works well.
Is't maybe a better idea to make this variabel must be set in kilobytes and
not in bytes?
Maybe something for version 2.5 stable 2? :-)

access by the w2k domaincontroller but is denied by the squid server.
How can I authenticated the users only by the w2k server so that the users
doesn't need an account at the linux squidserver?
I'm using Squid V2.5 Stable1 @ suse8.0.
