i suspect that my squid is not caching web pages.
how can i confirm.
if it's caching, i guess i should gain
offline access to pages cached to the squid server.
this is not the case. when the proxy is down, i get
a squid report for all sites.

i followed the article i found on squid faq.
on running wbinfo -a domain\\user%password,
i get
"plaintext password authentication succeeded" and
nothing more. i did not get any challenge/response

hard drive space. i got a reply from Henrik on changing
the path of my access log.
i did try that but squid starts and stops shortly after.
i suspect a permission problem but i don't know
