Try by allowing all your necessary requests by proper configuration of
ACLs and finally add http_access deny all as the final line. This will
stop whatever unnecessary access to the system.

Sumith

some sensitive sites using your proxy, making the remote sites think

hi and good week(-end all
can i configure squid to be anonymous proxy ?
What do you mean by 'anonymous' ?
M.
anonymous in a sense that nobody can trace my ip or my os settings
when i surf the net
a++
For testing , how much they know about you , so to speak. Check , for instance
before and after making changes to squid.conf with :
http://www.showmyip.com/
thanks for help
i get
[EMAIL PROTECTED] squid]# squid -D
2004/06/14 08:53:34| parseConfigFile: line 1932 unrecognized:
That should be :
forwarded_for off
Yes, I am struck by Monday(s) too

works fine
thanks

Why not just use SquidGuard to block the adds as well?
I may be a little ignorant but typically less is more :-)
Ted
why not?
do you have some docs about that ?
thanks

ok i have seen that we can organise database with webmin
and add site in the database to blocks adds
hi
i use squid with squidguard to refuse warez or other ads sites
despite that ,i surf without problems sites in this blacklist
here is my squidguard.conf
# CONFIGURATION DIRECTORIES
dbhome /usr/share/squidGuard-1.2.0/db
logdir /var/log/squidGuard
source LAN {
ip 192.168.0.0/24
}
destination

Your squidguard.conf is wrong.
for squidguard 1.2.0, the word source should be src for your source
classes and dest (not Destination) for your destination classes.
all works fine with your conf
thanks a lot
and felicitations for this nicely group
good afternoon
i want use both adzap and squidguard
in my squid.conf i write
redirect_program /usr/bin/squidGuard -c /etc/squid/squidGuard.conf
redirect_program /usr/local/adzap/scripts/squid_redirect

thanks a lot

Who is Users?
see http://www.squid-cache.org/Doc/FAQ/FAQ-19.html#configuring-proxy-auth
ihave created /etc/squid/users and write my users and pass
after i add in my webmin's authentification plugin
/usr/lib/squid/ncsa_auth /etc/squid/usersUsers
A++
But you do not 'tell' him the program authentication:
the line with :
authenticate_program /.../ncsa_auth file_with_users !!
ok i think its a bad think to use webmin with squid
i prefer now to add directly to squid.conf
so i try
#Recommended minimum configuration:
acl all src 0.0.0.0/0.0.0.0
thanks for your help
i try this
Authentification:
touch /var/log/squid/users
htpasswd -b /var/log/squid/user username password
in Squid.conf
auth_param basic program /usr/lib/squid/ncsa_auth /var/log/squid/users
auth_param basic children 5
auth_param basic realm Squid proxy-caching web server
