b) Squid is the worst case application for RAID5 and will absolutely
kill
the performance of a RAID5. RAID1 is fine, and so is separate drives.
Do you mean both hardware AND software Raid-5? What's the issue?

If at all possible, please do upgrade to 2.5.
That's always been my recommendation, but things move very slowly here
that's why I need to try to keep things in a safe state prior to upgrading.

Thanks Henrik/Marc
My recommendation is going to be that any implemenation of async i/o is
delayed and incorporated into a general upgrade of Squid to the latest
stable release.

Is there a specific version of Squid where async i/o is considered stable
and production-ready for Solaris 8?

2.If I do not know the compile options used for the binary currently in
production, would I need to replace anything else in addition to the squid
binary - in case there is a mismatch between options used on the newly
compiled one and the old one?

FAQ already checked. I just wondered (grasping at straws) if there was some
way of doing it.
Thanks anyway!

You need to remove the sub-directories within your Squid cache before
running squid -z. But remember that Squid doesn't just fill up and stop -
older stuff will get moved out to make room for newer objects.

You just need to set up an acl for that subnet and position the relevant
http_access entry prior to the entry allowing LDAP-authorized requests.

. But this DN is fine when run from the command
line.
I did notice that I get a TCP_DENIED message in access.log AS the prompt
flashes up (i.e. BEFORE I've actually entered my details (not sure whether
this is relevant or not)), as well as after.
Any help appreciated.

for user's details, validating them each time (I see new objects in
access.log), until eventually the whole page is loaded.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

already entered. The key is that initial, single sign-on.

Hi
Anyone know of anything out there that allows Squid to interface with
Kerberos?
