Do not configure the HTTPSProxy, only the HTTPProxy, and see if that

You have missed '--enable-linux-netfilter' option when installing squid.
You should use http_port tproxy transparent and do not use
tcp_outgoing_address in the squid.conf.
Before compiling squid, please make sure libcap-dev is installed.

When you increase cache_mem, reduce the size of cache_dir.

I am going to install a squid log analyzer to see what objects
are cached ( I think we are caching quarries which I don't think
it is a good idea )

we usually restarting squid by flushing it

that is very interesting,
the ownership of swap.state on all servers are squid,
because it is pipe the echo output so it shouldn't change
the permission.
however was wondering if clearing swap.state is the way of
clearing cache

We have configured our squid to be in accelerator mode .
squid listens on port 80 and Apache listen on port 8080.
now was wondering if I can restart apache before restarting
Squid, the reason I am asking this because when ever we restart
apache and then squid, we will have one run away
when I do ps -ef | grep squid I see
squid25921 25919 0 21:04 ?00:00:00 (unlinkd)
why it is unlinked ? I couldn't find any document to explain.
also I am using squid for accelerating my web server.
I see following message in my access log files.

i am stuck to gateway problem in squid
here i have three ISP and squid round_robin works fine
but if gateway on os (redhat) drop all goes very slow
and chat will not work untill i change gateway in os
is there any way that squid snif the dead gateway and
jump to next working gateway
