I'm currently a student working on making a web cache off of Linux Red
Hat for my school. I've been messing around with squid for a bit and
nothing has worked. I've got the source for their latest release and
I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to compile it. The guide tells me

I've found the cause of the problem, thanks to the log file. I tried to
login as [EMAIL PROTECTED] which makes squid looks for
[EMAIL PROTECTED],ou=tld.com,o=vpop which, offcourse, doesn't exist. If
I only use user1 without the domain, I can login fine.

now I'm adding squid-2.5.STABLE1-2.rpm into it.
The integration between openldap and vpopmail/qmail has been working

How can I enable read and write access for ftp via proxy.
I want to connect to an ftp site, the remote ftp site is set up for read and
write, but i get an error if I go via squid that only read access is
enabled. so how can I enable write access?

How do I enable tunneling in squid to work with VPN numbers with tarantella
software? It uses port 3144 which is not blocked by the firewall. Legal
numbers go through without problem, but I cant use 50 Legal numbers.
