This isn't a squid problem.
Check the time/date on your pc, that will cause the problems.

So most likely it is a WU server problem with Microsoft not adding correct
expiry information
I believe it is a squid problem since:
1. Send http traffic through squid and WU does not work.
2. Send http traffic direct (around the proxy) and WU does work.
3. Add:
acl windowsupdate dstdomain .windowsupdate.microsoft.com
no_cache deny windowsupdate
to squid.conf and WU works fine.
