I have the situation that squid has to deliver the .pac - autoconfig
file to the browser (squid replaced an old netscape proxy some time
ago). I have an Apache on the same system which is now delivering that
file and squid as accelerator:

No, just transparent.
You can route the requests to the correct server using cache_peer (with
the originserver flag) + cache_peer_access/domain.
