Yes, but it is only read on startup. Any changes done to /etc/hosts will
not be automatically picked up by Squid.

Squid loads /etc/hosts (or the hosts file specified in squid.conf) on

I have log_fqdn set to on but due to the location of
squid, it cannot resolve client ip addresses
