I have gotten the error using php4.2.3. I tried php4.3.0rc2 and the error went away. I have also previously had a problem with php4.2.3 with ftp. I am guessing that squirrelmail uses the php ftp functions and I beleive that either my installation of php4.2.3 had ftp bug or the release has bugs. Let

My guess would be that he's got a /ton/ of mail in one or another of his mailboxes. To get around this, you can try a couple things. 1. Turn on server-side sorting in conf.pl. This may or may not solve the problem. 2. Bump up the amount of memory available to PHP in php.ini. This /will/ solve the

This isn't a SM question. It entirely depends on the underlying technology and might very well be different between your two hosting services. You need to determine if each of them uses maildirs or mailboxes -- the former will place all of your email into a directory, each mail in its own file...

I spent a good part of Saturday trying to get Apache 2.0.43 and PHP 4.3.0 RC2 up and running. Unlike the 1.3 series, which now takes me 15 minutes to set up, I spent probably close to 6 hours on it. When I finally got it working, I found that many directives I used in .htaccess files no longer wor
