If you use postfix, you should take a look at postgrey
(http://isg.ee.ethz.ch/tools/postgrey/). It is postfix implementation of
greylisting. It eliminates 99.9% spams on my server.

I've been experiencing some odd behaviors with the filters plugin. Some
messages, in this case I believe it to be due to an invalid email address
in the to: field are causing the filters plugin to descend into it's error
