This is a fresh install of Squirrelmail 1.4.5 on FreeBSD 4.9. Basic
functions (log in, read mail) work fine. Sending mail, replying to mail,
and forwarding mail (anything that tries to write to the Sent folder)
all produce an error message reading "ERROR: Bad or malformed
request.,Server responded: Missing literal in APPEND again"
I've checked the list archives on Sourceforge and found that this is
probably due to folder permissions. What are the folder permissions
supposed to look like? In config.php I've got:
$trash_folder = 'Trash';
$sent_folder = 'Sent';
$draft_folder = 'Drafts';
In my home dir I've got FILES named Trash, Sent, and Drafts (this system
had been running Imp but I've had so many problems maintaining it that
I'm trying to switch now to Squirrelmail). Does the presence of Sent,
etc as files instead of folders rule out Squirrelmail (unless I convert
everybody's files to folders)?
