Trent,
Seeing your post reminded me, I'm still working along on my patterns and
I don't know when I'll get done. A few weeks maybe. Several of the
patterns are in aluminum, one or two in maple, another in cherry wood. I
ordered a 3ยบ tapered end mill last week and got word today it's been bac
Hello Everyone,
Been behind on the e-mail lately so this may be covered in the 155 or so e-mails
that I have yet to
read.
Another option other than the flexshaft is the air powered pencil type grinders.
They have a collet like
the flexshaft and will accept the 1/8" shank grinding rocks, bur

Yes - that's what they still look like- I have a brand new one - had to replace the old
one - If you don't hang the dermal so the flex shaft is as straight as possible it
wears out
quite quickly - thanks to Home Depots no questions policy it was replaced quickly and

Hi Royce,
The flexshaft that I bought (Dremel brand, but several years old) has a square shape
to the inner
flexshaft itself. It resembles a tightly wound spring running inside a rubber coated
sleave. The
square end of the shaft fits into an adapter that screws onto the moto tools shaft

Hi Royce
That's all part of the fun - I love shinny things - the more neon colors and chrome
the more I want want want it :-)
Hmmm !! Funny how the most colorful tools seem to cost the most.

HI Bob
I couldn't agree with you more. I don't have any variable speed control
on the flexshaft when it is hooked up to the sander (1/2 horse motor) so all I use are
the larger drum sanders - I have a great deal of respect for the little guys. Power

I looked up prices in my latest jewelry supply catalog. The shaft itself is
about $40 and the handpiece (chuck type) is about $50. This is the foredom
brand, really the standard in the jewelry trade.
I think it needs to be said, that respect for any tool is necessary. I
definitely have some

Royce,
My local Wal-Mart and Lowe's carries the Dremel tools and accessories. Last time I
was at
Wal-Mart picking up a few cutters they had the flexshafts. Sorry, I didn't pay any
attention
to current price but I think I gave under $20 for mine (about 10 years ago). It
