After further digging around, I believe the problem could be with Stripes URLs. According to http://www.ietf.org/rfc/rfc3987 URL parameters should be encoded RTL. This works fine when retrieving a value via the actionBean. e.g. provides: http://localhost:8084/auth/keys.action?
