Keep in mind that mp3 already is a lossy codec. If you convert from mp3 to ogg, you'll be losing a lot of quality. Usually you should only convert from a lossless coded (like flac) to a lossy one (mp3/ogg). I think you can try mencoder to encode between mp3 and ogg. On 26 June 2010 09:28, javed k

Hi, Actually with the alert function it will try and create a popup - however this is generally pretty slow as it tries to create a new window. It's better to use DHTML or a library (like JQueryUI) to show the alert. If you want the application to work even for those who have an older version of

I don't know why mp32ogg doesn't work for you, but there are other options. Maybe the easiest is to download the ffmpeg2theora executable: http://v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora/ffmpeg2theora-0.27.linux32.bin You'll have to use chmod +x to make it executable. ffmpeg2theora can produces audio or video.

Thanks for the advice Joel,   Seems like our naive attempts to try and publish some helpful content for children ran into the big bad real world of licences and legal bits.    I think we will postpone launching this content until something can be resolved.   Thanks WCP    On 25 June 2010 at 23:53

Coming from a malarial region (and having had a few doses myself), and having taught for a few years in rural schools in the region, I feel I can contribute something here. Firstly, remember that the students and teachers have access to a range of media and variety of sources of information
