Dave,
This is an example of how powerful our community could be. Naturally, we
would need to nail down this price - Amazon quotes about $10 each. There
has been a lot of discussion in the community on the viability of sd
cards from different manufacturers. With a little effort we may be able

AFIK, the Government of Rwanda annual fiscal year begins July 1. Some
one may have access to the records, but there are probably 1000 XO-1s
deployed there. Does any one have an idea of the cost of 1000 32GB SD
cards? Perhaps, that could be added to the MinEduc budget. The cost to
deploy the SD

Hi, Dave
There are a number of projects to put Linux on Android devices, e.g.
http://linuxonandroid.org/.
I could see an openWRT scenario in which there would be an inventory of
Android products which support a Linux install (possibly with specific
install instructions and even images).

Still on the issue of Marketing, I think a website integration will also help
in driving traffic to SugarLabs. A ad-like advertisement on our personal blogs
or website will help also. Not saying we should venture into buying spaces for
ads (unless necessary).
I will work on the designing aspect
As Facebook user, I think that Sugarizer wouldn't have success.
What I mean, when I look through Facebook "market", I try to find
games that my friends play, so it can be more ¿cool?.
Probably if we publish Sugarizer it would have 50-200 monthly users.
I prefer to use sugarizer in it official

I rooted it once. But there was a program to auto update it and then it

Oh, yes I agree with you totally, can't believe how I didn't think of it

Hi
You are probably more familiar than I am with the facebook free basics
fiasco. Facebook seeks to establish itself as a grand gateway to what the
internet can do, and the software freedom movement yearns to make Facebook
obsolete. (eg, see
Hi Dave,
I can see why you want to limit the app on facebook, but don't you think
that it would be better if everyone could have the full sugar/sugarizer
experience independent of where they are using it currently (facebook in
this case)? If it is technically not possible to run the entire
I think facebook app/game versions of sugar activities is smart marketing,
but I would suggest making them a little limited, to get people hooked on
them, and then telling people to upgrade to the main

Hi Tony
Don't get me wrong, what I am excited about is being able to buy up
Amazon's subsidised hardware and rip out their Android distro and put in a
clean one. I'm not sure about putting in a GNU/Linux, a clean Android/Linux
distro seems more likely to go smoothly.
As I understood them, there
FWIW, there is a FB version of Turtle Blocks [1], but I never followed
through to get it "authorized". Justed need to add a little glue to the JS
code to enable it.
