I had taken up the initiative of working on the TuxMath activity but since
my exams were going on I was not able to contribute much. I wanted to know
if the work on the activity has taken a kick start of any sorts and if not
I would really want to do that.

I tried to install TuxMath with:
sudo yum --downloadonly --downloaddir=/home/olpc/Documents install tuxmath
This failed on an xo-1.75: (13.2.0) with the message Error: Cannot
retrieve metalink for repository: fedora/18/armhfp
It also failed on an xo-1 (12.1.0): with the message Error: Cannot

Summary: if you must deploy TuxMath, use TuxMath-3.1.xo with TuxMath
2.0.3 on Ubuntu, it works fine there.

Obviously, Ubuntu is non-starter for an XO deployment.
There are deployments which require signed images (e.g. Rwanda).
The original idea in Sugar was that activities needed to satisfy any
software dependencies not supplied by Sugar. The tuxmath-2.xo met that
requirement up to 0.94.

Yes. But given that this is the sugar-devel@ list, I wouldn't want
people to think it is a TuxMath or Sugar problem. My tests on Ubuntu

The problem is not technical but administrative. Currently ASLO does not
have a mechanism to support multiple 'latest' versions of an activity.

The web activities issue is because we need do
export SUGAR_USE_WEBKIT1=yes
at the start of the session (in F18 images).
We had that in 0.102 images, but I missed send the patch upstream.
About testing 0.104 or 0.106, the point is you will be alone again working
in 0.104.

The issue is related to activity.info. So, to fix the activity you just
had to download/install the latest version here [1].
Then open Terminal activity and update the activity.info file into

Today I built the latest upstream version of tuxmath (2.0.3) with two
patches for tuxmath and SDL_image from this BZ report
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=829419.
For testing this version, you just need 2 rpms package:
- tuxmath-2.0.3.rpm from here: http://dev.laptop.org/~germ
TuxMath 2 loads on Release 13.2.0, but then crashes out immediately after
you click "Play" on the launch screen where you toggle "No sound". The
user is returned to the Sugar home view immediately, without an error
message.
Any other versions of TuxMath or TuxMath tweaks we might try ?
