Since it appears to be a slow news week, I'll take the opportunity to ask for
some help on a conceptual problem I've been having.
I know the moon can be used with a sun dial to tell time at night. I now look
at the moon with a new appreciation. But I can't get the hang of predicting
where the
predicting where the moon will be at a given time, and vice versa
Question: is there an easy way to understand AND remember how the moon moves
throughout the month?
The moon's motions have been predictable since at least the 1700s, when
'lunars' were used to navigate. 'Understanding
No wonder there is a power problem around there!

In the birthplace of Unilever, Port Sunlight village (UK), there used to be
a rather impressive sundial - a 6 to 7 foot pillar, on top of which was a
sphinx, on top of which was a cross sundial, originally installed in about
1895.
I have seen pictures of it, with the first Lord Leverhulme
