Outside the new mosque (Yeni Camii) in Istanbul in Turkey there are several sundials with horizontal (?) gnomons. I suspect they show the time when to pray (Ṣalāt), but I lack definite information and I do not "understand" the sundials myself. Would be great if you can add anything...
