There is a magnificent public sundial in Australia, seen as a spiral town square on Google Earth at lat -37.802467, longitude 144.965927 degrees. It is flat to the ground, but unlike an analemmatic, it uses the person's height to tell time, and looks more like a traditional horizontal layout. See
