Lovely modern dial, and a great concept!! Ideal for a low wall like this,
particularly if direct South and at low latitudes. I'd love to find a site near
here to try this.

that in 2009, people are still creating new and innovative designs for
something as old as sundials. There is no reason this design could not
have been conceived 400 years ago, but it wasn't!

An exceptional sundial.
You can also call it a 'shadow plane sundial': on a certain hour the
heads of all the persons, regardless of the size of the person, are
in the same (shadow) plane together with the hour line of that time.
A special feature for mathematicians
Excellent. I have never seen a vertical version before.
