Dear Daniel,
congratulations and thanks for 10th anniversary of Sundial Mailing List,
which you founded on the 15th of February in 1996, 9.23 h.
We would like to make you a present.
With the help of Gianni Ferrari I built in the last days a CD with the

Hello Friends,
By now I hope you have checked out the Sundial Mailing List archive at

and have tried the search/find function.
The people who maintain the archive have been very helpful and
responsive, and have shown a surprising
Hello...
The Mail Archive owner has agreed to modify, at least for now, the

Normally, only the most recent 100 results are available. Now, the

Hi Mac:
Could you please forward this? Thanks!
Hello All:
Dave & I have begun a photo archive of sundial towers from around
the world at the Sundial Cupolas, Towers & Turrets website. This
includes website links to them. I'm mostly interested in towers
with multiple sundial
Ah, yes, of course you're right; your stone dial is not an analemmatic dial,
but a horizontal dial with the hourly analemmas and declination and dates
among the dial furniture.
And, yes, I've also long been an admirer, too, of the simple analemmatic
dial painted on the sidewalk at the entrance
Hello Joe:
And it's a pleasure hearing from you!
I remembered your email to the list long ago and the gist of its
contents, but I didn't remember your name. I'm not a webmaster, so
unfortunately I can't help out in making an on line Sundial Email List

It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance.
The presence of the sundial archive on YAHOO! is something I brought up
about a year ago. No one replied, I don't believe. I think no one knew

the origin of those postings which were transferred, _en masse_, to YAHOO!

Martha Vargas has located a partial archive of The
Sundial Email List. For some unknown reason the last posting in the
Archive was posted back in 2001 then it stops.
Oddly, she found this email list archive at Yahoo. I wonder how it got
there, who did it, and why it stops in 2001? But
Hello Sundial Email List Subscribers (cc Daniel
Roth):
Apparently, there is no website that has an archive of all the Sundial
List postings, at least nobody has told me about one. This is a pity.
This means that there is no way for anybody to retrieve all the
wonderful postings that have
Dear sundial friends,
I lost last year's sundial list messages, due to some mishap with our new
e-mail server. As far as I know, the list is not officially archived. Has
anyone perhaps collected the postings from 20 Jan. 2004 to 19 Jan. 2005?
Please mail me off-list before sending :-)
Thanks!

Does anyone know where a larger selection of messages from the SML is

I don't know how to find old messages for this list. I used to look at an
archive on Yahoo Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sundial/messages/),
but the last message there is from 2001/07/11.
Where else can I look?
Thanks in advance,

Hello!
Does the List have an archive? I lost the note I sent recently by pressing
the wrong button, and I'd like to retrieve it. If not, if anyone happens to
have it, could he please forward it to me. It is the description of tthe

Hi all,
it's been half a year since my last post. I've been working and
studying hard and had little time to take care of the archives.
However, I removed the VSNET mailing lists to common request. That
shrunk the archive size from over a million messages to just under
half a mill

Hello Sundial List,
The current archive for the Sundial Mail List (and lots of other lists) is:
http://194.230.53.250
At last peek, there were 38 messages about "shadow sharpener". I
recommend choosing text display.
Enjoy.
Mac Oglesby
I have just received and uploaded some new items from:
Chris Lusby Taylor: Article on gnomons for mean-time equinaoctial dials.
Brad Lufkin: A Macintosh dial generator.

Hello all,
Recently I tried to access the archive of Sundial Mail List messages, using

By the way, on the archive pages, there is an animated .gif of a sundial

the shadow, I really *intended* to represent hours 1..9 and 0 (no shadow),
because I was thinking of using the images as digits in a web page
counter! I
I was rather disappointed in the speed of the Crosswinds Web hosting. For

compare. Take your choice:

OK, shadow-watchers:
As promised, I have created a Web site where we can archive graphic or
other binary files, rather than sending them as attachments to the List.
Visit: http://www2.crosswinds.net/~dialist/
Send me email about submissions, and we'll see how well it works!
