In my book “Relazioni e formule per lo studio delle meridiane piane” (
1998), I wrote the following relations between Babylonian time B, Italian
time I, solar time S , the Length of the day D (from dawn to sunset) and
the Length of the Night N:
I-B=24-D=N
I-S=S-B=(I-B)/2=(24-D)/2=N/2
S=(I+B

Dear Willy,
This is a good observation...

Today is the Vernal Equinox when all relationships
are made easy...
Let B = Babylonian time in hours after sunrise
Let I = Italian time in hours after sunset
Let H = Solar time in hours sin
By studying the most beautiful sundial of the Netherlands in
Groningen (see http://www.wijzerweb.be/groningen.html) I noticed that
a simple relationship exists between the Babylonian time, the Italian
time and the solar time (real local time) at a given moment.
The equation for this relations
