Can anyone enlighten me on what firmware version and what sunray models
are able to use the newest firmware with the builtin VPN? I thought I
grabbed the newest SunRay Server Software, but am not sure that I did.

I have a fairly serious question to ask you. I recall hearing that the
VPN firmware in the SunRay 2 can only connect to Cisco - 3000 series vpn
concentrators. I was on Cisco's website trying to purchase one, and
those are now EOL. What alternative do I have so that I can use the vpn

You have to use a SUn Ray 2 DTU. Only on this DTU this firmware works.

The VPN firmware is available for Sun Ray 2 models. That's caveat #1,
#2 is that you need specify to use the "GUI Firmware" in your utadm or
utfwadm commands.

Yeah we use those off campus, I guess I wasn't hitting the correct key

Any of the SRSS 4.0 or later GUI firmware can be configured for VPN.
By default the GUI firmware is not pushed to the clients. You need to
explicitly configure the GUI firmware with the utfwadm command.
Specifically the "-f /opt/SUNWut/lib/firmware_gui" option.
