Hi, Java 8 u 261 breaks with the current version of Freenet. There's an update on the way to fix this issue. As a workaround in the meantime you can uninstall the update until the release is out. Here are two articles showing the steps to install a previous Java update: -

Freenet build 1485 crashes and the log shows many refs to Java this or Java that. Java was recently updated to Version 8 Update 261 on my PC and after that Frenet quit working at all. My PC runs Win 7 OS. Use of MS Edge or Iexplorer browser, Freenet still crashes. Why does Freenet crash??
