yeah, do:
opkg update
opkg upgrade
in fact, if you've done that at any time since 2008/09/16, you'll have
the upgrades already

Is there a way to install a new window manager or theme through opkg and then
edit the conf files to switch to it? I'm trying to avoid yet another re-flash
of the device.

I've compiled SDL with fbcon ( no directfb ) for 2008.9 and it seems
working ( no hw accel I think )
i had to set following env vars on the handset to get touchscreen alive
export SDL_MOUSEDRV=TSLIB
export TSLIB_TSDEVICE=/dev/input/touchscreen0
sparky mat
Ive just noticed that with a normal 2008.9, any sms messages are not
seen by the FR until its rebooted, when they all arrive at once. This
appears to be the case whether its suspended or not. Calls appear to
work ok.
Before I raise a bug on it, is anyone else seeing this?
